Tips for a Kid-Friendly Beauty Salon

Young children can often get bored and restless while waiting for mom to get her hair styled, a perm, or cut. They start getting into things they shouldn't or they go into areas that are off limits to customers. This, in turn, can cause the mother to become fidgety and stressed out, making it a negative experience for the customer and the beauty salon owner. There are many steps a salon owner can take to make her shop more kid-friendly and stress-free.

Designated Area for Children

Areas set aside specifically for children make them feel special and important. The use of a little white fence to section this area off from the rest of the salon could add nice decor to the salon. This area could be separated into three sections, one for toddlers, one for boys, and one for girls. The toddler areas could have toys and coloring books with big crayons. The boys section could have race cars and video games while the girls area could have dress-up clothes, make-up, and nail polish. A television could also be available for movies and TV shows. Additionally, consider having a chalk board painted on one entire wall with loads of colored chalk available for children to draw their masterpieces.

Snacks and Drinks

Having snacks available for the kids and adults gives them an extra special treat. This can be fun to do, especially around the holidays. Making festive holiday cookies and candies will give the salon a comfortable and welcoming feeling. Drinks could include coffee, bottled water, juice boxes, or Kool-Aid.

Convenient Restrooms

When a child has to go to the bathroom, you don't want to have to worry about the child locking himself in and then not be able to unlock the door. A folding door is great for young children as it doesn't require much effort in opening and closing. It is also important to have a step stool available for the children who cannot reach the sink and to have the soap and paper towels within easy reach for the child.

  • Nick's Appliance Service & Repair 3025 Senter Rd, San Jose CA
Melissa they BROKE our stove...had to buy new Called Nicks Appliance to fix my glass top stove because one of the knobs wouldn't turn off the burner. The repairman BROKE the glass top rendering it completely useless. They attempted to replace the glass (after a month waiting for the part) and broke the glass top AGAIN. After breaking our stove twice they refused to fix it and refused to give us any compensation. We asked them to order the replacement glass top so we could get another repair service in to do the repair. Nicks refused. Don't go with Nicks or you will end up having to buy a new stove!!!!‎

Arthur Authentic Asian Food Close to Home The only thing better than the authentic Asian Cuisine at the Hunan Homes is the pricing. Seriously, I defy you to find better, authentic Asian food at prices that meet or beat Hunan. I swear it cannot be done, at least not in the Bay Area. They have everything, from egg rolls to sizzing platters of Mu Shu. You'll find something you love and keep coming back, guaranteed.
