Oh Arizmendi's, how I love you so. Your pizza is delicious and exactly the same as the Cheese Board, but the recipes are different. When you walk in the front door, it smells of fresh bread. The bread is what sets it apart from other bakeries in the area because it is so fresh and at the same time unique. The pizza is a little expensive at $18 for a whole pizza, which is totally worth the price difference. Each day there is a different type of pizza, each with a different variety of vegetables and spices.
In terms of baked goods, they have everything any bakery would have. The scones are wonderfully crafted and are hard on the outside, but soft on the inside, they are amazing! This joint can be a little messy at times inside, but its really the food that matters, and it's great, wait, no scratch that, it's excellent.
Wingstop
4133 San Pablo Ave, Emeryville, CA 94608
"Thank you for choosing Wing Stop, this is "...", and I'll be your wing expert, how can I help you?"
Holy crap, who answers the phone today? Just from hearing this, I knew I was dealing with a franchise that cared about customer service.
Every time I go there, I can't help but order the 10 piece combo Lemon Chicken, Garlic Parmesan. Both of them are completely mouthgasmic! Just writing about them makes me want to eat them. The fries are delicious and not like those at McDonald's or any other place. They have salt and sugar on them, so they are kind of sweet, but in a good way.
This is definetly a little more than your other run of the mill fast food restaurants, but when you look at happiness/taste to price ratio, then its real good. Ten wings, fries, and a soda will set you back $8.99 plus tax.
If you hear someone talking about an blatantly over-priced market, then it's probably Hutchins. Who in their right mind pays $4.99 for a can peanut butter that was bought at Winco for $1.89? On the upside, they do have a good selection of liquors and spirits, some at good prices, but most at horribly expensive prices. Since when was a 40 oz of beer $3.00? It's $1.79, half a mile away at the 76. However, if there is a small microbrew that you have your eye on, it's probably at Hutchins. Recently, the store has had some major financial difficulties, often running out of alcohol, and not reordering for weeks on end. While the staff might be nice, they are of no help when questions of restocking are asked. For those who are on campus and need a quick fix of brew or some groceries, then Hutchins is the place to stop at ... if you have the money.
have never had a burger like those at Tonis. It's not a frozen patty from Sysco that every other burger joint serves, it's fresh. I can taste the onion, tomatoes, and the lettuce that they pile on them. The fries are out of this world goodness, perfectly salted to perfection. Another great side of the menu is it's breakfast selection. I have never tasted a breakfast that was so perfectly made. The fact that it tastes good doesn't mean that it's good for you. It's greasy, and when I say greasy, I mean really really greasy. However with the tastiness of their meals you won't feel those pounds pack on or your body going out. Did I mention that it's open 24 hours! So, the next time you had a six pack too many, head on down to Tonis (with a sober driver of course) and grab a bite of good food to eat.
Don’s is open 24 hours a day serving Pizza, Donuts, and delicious South Asian sandwiches. This place is a great seeing that most places in Arcata close at around 9pm, so this is the place to eat after 9! It’s not unusual to see a line at 3am stretching out the door. Their donuts are perfect and can be compared to those at Krispy Kream. If you aren’t fond of drunks and the homeless, then Don’s might not be your cup of tea seeing that after 10 pm some days, it can get pretty crazy. It is THE bum hangout spot in town, so do be prepared when you are there for some encounters with either drunk college students or transients. Because of this, I can’t rate Don’s 5 stars, but the food is good, the service is great, and the hours are better. If you’re passing through Arcata, then this is the place to stop at.
